Offering Assistance to Students in Schools (OASIS) is aimed at students wanting a career in the hospitality/food industry.
It is linked to nationally recognised unit standards and can lead to national qualifications in hospitality. An initiative of ServiceIQ and McDonald’s, OASIS supports hospitality training in schools.
Work experience takes place in a local McDonald’s restaurant. This will be a block period of 5-10 weeks, totalling 30 hours, with one to two shifts worked in each week. Scheduled times for student placement is during school term only. A schedule will be worked out for students, schools and McDonald’s.
During this work experience students will be trained on four different McDonald’s stations and assessed in unit standards.
